UAV Training

Did you know that Transport Canada is about to implement new UAV Regulations? This change will require all UAV operators to obtain a pilot’s license regardless of whether you fly for recreation or commercially.

OAS offers a two UAV training programs to help you meet the new safety requirements. Let us help you fly safely and legally.

Comprehensive UAV Training (5 days, 2 weekends)

This program is designed for new pilots and includes:

  • 30 hours of UAV-specific ground school
  • 2-4 hours of hands-on UAV piloting
  • 1 hour supervisory test

You will receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of the program.

Accelerated UAV Training (2 days, 1 weekend)

This program is designed for licensed pilots (PPL or better) and includes:

  • 8 hours of UAV-specific ground school
  • 1-2 hours of hands-on UAV piloting
  • 1 hour supervisory test

Program Requirements

  • 16 Years of Age
  • Working knowledge of English; written and oral
  • PPL or better (for accelerated program)
